What a treat to spend a full week in Provence during the time of late summer sun. Crowds will have gone and ‘tranquility’ in Provence is once again enjoyed by its inhabitants. That is when YOU want to be there too! The light, the atmosphere of "Vive la Vie" is all around you.

Arrival in Marseille and transfer to your hotel in the Luberon region. There will be a welcome cocktail party and time to relax and enjoy the colors all around you.

We will engage a coach for those who want to photograph, paint and participate in pottery programs.

Program division will be as follows . . .

Full day activities.

During the full day activities, potters will go to their studio in the Luberon National park area whereas the painters will be taken to an area where they will be instructed by a local artist.

For those of you who just intend to visit the area and enjoy its’ beauty, there will be excursions to local markets and sites of historic interest. A private coach and your tour manager will accompany you.

During the afternoon, when classes are held only in the morning, we will take the entire group to various sites. These are a joy for both the eye and soul.



The half-day excursions will take you to the following areas:

Avignon
Historic and charming town. Home of the popes in the 14th century. Here you will visit the impressive papal palace. This is where the Popes lived and ruled for some 70 years. Visit the famous Bridge, which has been immortalized in many, a song and just stroll through the famous place de l’Horloge and Rue de la Republic!

Arles
Home for just over one year to Vincent van Gogh, the famous Dutch impressionist. Here you will walk in his footsteps and see not only sites which he painted but also be reminded of the times of Roman occupation some 2000 yeas ago.

Pont du Gard
One of the wonders of architecture. Marvel at this magnificent Roman Aqueduct and visit its most impressive nearby museum.

Aix en Provence
The charming capital of Provence. Home of the painter Cezanne and University town. Enjoy a café on the famous Cours Mirabeau en just enjoy the easy going atmosphere of this charming town.
